A toy train that crashed into a building in South Carolina has now become a runaway.ABC affiliate WLTX reports the toy train was headed to a local high school when it flipped over.
Authorities said it was traveling on Interstate 95 when it hit the roof of a convenience store.
The train crashed into the brick building.
ABC affiliate WCNC reported that one of the passengers was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.
A spokesperson for the South Carolina Department of Transportation told WLTx that the train was “safe and accounted for.”
A spokesperson from the North Carolina Department on Aging said the train is on its way to a nearby facility for treatment.
A spokesman for North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory said that the accident is under investigation.
A spokesman for the State Highway Patrol said that investigators are looking into the crash.
